FF14 Shadowbringers was the best MMO expansion I've ever played through and is still giving good shit

Cadence of Hyrule is the secret gem more Switch owners need to play

Wargroove is the perfect Advance Wars sequel and is crossplay mp across all platforms (maybe not PS4?)

Death Stranding exists. Like it or not, it's pretty cool that some weird ass shit like that can be commercially viable (probably)

You can’t convince me the Animal Crossing team isn’t just a dump for senior individuals’ untalented relatives and friends that are only capable of PS1-quality work. Animal Crossing was cute when it debuted but it needed a big reinvention at some point.

It was okay, not better than the prior years - frontloaded as usual. Still, better than anything during PS360. Capcom and FROM keep slaying. Seems like the next significant upswing will be 2020 though.

Gotta be real though, the new game seems to be first sequel with some kind of effort put in. The Animal Crossing team might have just lost the official spot of laziest mainstream developer and left it for Gamefreak.

Just Biohazard/REbirth 2 and Devil May Cry 5 for me this year. A lot I played this year was last year titles like ports/older stuff like Yakuza.

Devil May Cry 5 might be game of the year for me.

AC and Pokémon are also very similar in that 90+% of new features added since the original games have actively made the games worse. In most respects both series are worse off than they were when they started.

Some good stuff and something that sucked for a while (Battlefield 5) also regained its footing.

With Gears 5, Pokemon, COD, Death Stranding etc. all having different issues Star Wars Fallen Order surprisingly saved the end of the year though.

Babbies first souls game with Star Wars graphics didn't save shit, Disco Elysium and Kojima tha god saved 2019.

RE2 and DMC5 were cool too. I still need to try Control.

I haven't really gamed too much this year, still wanna play Star Ocean First Departure R, Astral Chain, DMC5, and of course DQ Builders 2... Cold Steel 3 comes before any of that, though. Wish the series had more of a fanbase but I understand it's a MASSIVE commitment.
