How does anyone like lamb?

I've consumed it in many different ways and in all the ways I've encountered I've learned to see the technique as a way to mask its taste.

Basically absolute trash.

It's the one form of meat where a fat cap is actively avoided. All the herbs in the world will not save you from the gaminess. Give me a pork shoulder instead. Rendered and braised. While lamb sits as a dirt tasting reason to spend more on nothing

I've ordered it from all forms of local establishments. Used in Italian  pasta to Iraqi skewers to pakastani creations. I think it's my Caribbean sense of taste? But fuck lamb fucks me up I cannot stand it.

In Greece it is now most often pork or chicken, while a mixture of beef and lamb is common in the US and other countries

Never seen chicken gyros in my life. But still, you Americans ruin everything.


On topic: I never ate lamb because I thought I didn’t like it. At a wedding two or three years ago they served the most delicious meat I ever had and it turned out to be lamb. I was converted

i will say, australian and new zealand lamb is all too popular in the states -- at least around the mid atlantic -- and is significantly more gamy. if lamb isn't your thing you should try less fatty cuts from the grass-fed domestic breeds. save mutton for stews and also, i equate not liking lamb to racism so you lot could also try being less fucking racist

I think that's exactly it, I keep running into mutton. Sprinting before learning to walk. I'll have to pay attention to cut and age next time I order any.

I've had stewed rabbit before but it didn't really taste very gamey to me... more like tougher chicken, if anything.
