Make sure you wear a sign that says you're a rich tourist and you're only carrying cash.

Come to Chicago.

~3h flight? Sounds good. I am only in the planning stages now so Chicago fits in if it is 3 hrs.

Heh. If you actually do show up I'll write you a few ideas of what to do besides visiting the Bean.

I've been to the Nixon Library multiple times but it would be kind of funny to see if the trade war with China has lead to them shrinking the "look at how Nixon opened up China!" part of the exhibits, which were substantial last time I was there.

(The Watergate stuff is like 1/10 of a single room with other stuff in it. :lol)

It should be fine. NYC is mega safe in terms of US cities. It's been gentrified to heck, especially if you stay in the classic tourist trap areas filled with cops and surveillance.

Cool, gritty NYC is dead.

I'm a long-time resident btw. I miss the edge. It's basically a suburb these days with all the chain garbage around. We even have Chick Fil-A's now.

Also, NYC is largely insulated for Trump's distinguished mentally-challenged fellowation.  We can't stand him and knew he was a fraud for decades before he got involved in politics. State and local politics are complete opposite his agenda.
