Is My Husband GAY?ChristWire was a satirical website like the Onion but much less reputable and specialized in hardcore Christian kulturkampf stuff. It doesn't really hit the same way it used to—the Christian right is a significantly less visible force now than it was even in 2016—but for the time this was a masterclass in trolling. They managed to fool multiple news organizations into taking their site seriously over the years. This article was probably their greatest success and
resulted in Huffington Post writing a very angry screed about this perpetuating negative stereotypes about gay men and so on. Many thousands of people shared this article with each other in disgust and a great number of them voiced their displeasure in the comments section.
The author, "Stephenson Billings",
was also their best writer and one of my favorite satirists ever. He doesn't really write anymore... He never made the transition to the Twittersphere or updated his comedy to suit the zeitgeist. We all get old, eventually.
Anyway just thought I'd share this with you all. Hopefully someone here remembers that site. Satirical websites are as old as the internet but this was one of the very best there ever was and it was also before everyone became irony poisoned and the memes took over.

I must ask you people once again to please refrain from spamming and attacking this website to try to shut it down. By doing so, you are violating my right to FREE SPEECH as protected by the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. We also have something in this country called “FREEDOM OF RELIGION” which you people seem to forget. It is values such as these which have made America great. Once again, this is a Christian website and if you are not a Chrisitan and only coming here to spread hostility or make death threats I must ask you kindly to STOP NOW. You people are nothing more than bullies and it’s disgusting to me the vast amount of hate your liberal sorts have deep within your heart, ready to attack anyone they find who is courageous to stand up for his values. Your “homosexual” activists have done nothing but spread hate and fear and are encouraging nothing less than a genocide upon real marriage in this country.
