Real talk this is killing my love for baseball.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game.
But the big moment the team I've cheered my whole life has an asterisk on it. They won the series on my birthday. It was a really good day.
I look up to so many of the players and now I'm finding myself recoil at these tweets. In 2019 I listened to damn near every game on At Bat. I was planning on going to the season opener and even getting season tickets. Now I don't know. The respect and love I have is gone. While it's just a baseball team, it's one less thing in these harsh times. Its changed my opinions and views of the players. I can't look at them now and respect them. How can I cheer for players like this?
I might have to take a year break from following the Astros after all of this. It might seem extreme but I desperately need to emotionally detach from the situation and see it for what it is.
This has made loving MLB hard this past off season. Don't get me wrong, as I love the game still. Which is exactly why this is all so disappointing. It has stained my view of my team and their treatment of the game. I really hope I can recover any love for them quicky because at this point I'm just even excited for spring or want to see any of their faces.
