Eastern European Jams
« on: January 21, 2020, 02:29:14 PM »
This thread is meant to celebrate the rich music culture of Eastern Europe. It is not limited to propaganda songs from the Balkan Wars, but I‘m sure we will get there.

You ever wondered how a turbofolk+ska+ nu metal crossover sounds?

If you like minimal techno... Romania is apparently a hotbed of the genre nowadays.

This was started mostly as a joke/meme thread but lead to me discovering some songs that I genuinely enjoy.
My thesis is that if you start a serious topic on the Bire, the quality of posts will gradually decrease. Here, the exact opposite is the case.
The Bire paradox. :jeb

I mean, this is directly from the wikipedia article...

It's not being pedantic you fucking dingbat.

Culturally, politically, religiously different.

The balkans are slavs. Greeks are not slavic and never were slavic. Greece has more alignment with Mediterranean nations and peoples than slavic people.

the term balkans is by in large a geographical term, not a cultural one, and greece, especially the northern parts, are very much a part of the balkan peninsula and that said peninsula is considered part of southeastern europe which in large part considered an extension of eastern europe, you pedantic dumb tone-deaf fuck. i mean shit, i even implied in my post that started this all that i know some people would take offense with that assertion but somehow you missed that part.

but hey, you managed to ctrl-f your way quickly through the wikipedia i linked and quoted from the small section criticism the geographical definition of the balkans and ignored the 54 other times greece was mentioned as being part of the balkan peninsula but let me help you with a few of the maps that are littered throughout the article.

but hey, i guess greece was never part of the balkan war either?

He's apparently French though?

I'll be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of that particular track but back in 2006 I remember it getting played all across the electronic music spectrum - prog, trance, techno, minimal, electro DJs were all playing it. I think Azzido Da Bass - Doom's Night was the last time I saw a dance song with such cross-genre appeal.

More Eastern Euro dance music:

Umek (Slovenia)

Jay Lumen (Hungary)

Catz n Dogz (Poland)

Yuri Kane (Russia)

Petre Inspirescu (Romania)

Nina Kraviz (Russia)

Hello, I'm a fellow slavic scum from the Czech Republic. If I may drop some random stuff.

Karel Kryl - Andel
Pretty much my favorite lyricist in any language. Incredilby key Czech artist
https://youtu.be/jIPwzMgPVqE

Orlik - Skinheadskej Stat
Nationalist, racist, skinheads. Yet also with a heavy hatred towards Nazis. Interesting group of dumbfucks
https://youtu.be/_DGkpufFUH0

Vypsana Fixa - Mazoretka
alt rock duders. Not half bad.
https://youtu.be/PPmLwMjIRNQ

Lucie - Panic
a longtime band that's got a good rep throughout the years
https://youtu.be/TcnySvBW_X8

Horkyze Slize - Sanghaj Kola
Slovak brothers. Good stuff
https://youtu.be/jCmGTrn00NA

Visaci Zamek - Znamka Punku
https://youtu.be/ZuYx_z9KU68

and finally, some shitty ass rap.

Sergei Barracuda - 713
Good flow, just dumbass lyrics. This guy scares me.
https://youtu.be/6SlOOI5bUX0

Reznik - Zoubkova Vila
horrorcore. Not feeling this guy either
https://youtu.be/4rzYYzOFYHw

PSH - Praha
this has always been an older Czech classic hip hop tune.
https://youtu.be/GhvHq5LcCnA

Some female vocals why not.

Maya - Pruhledna
Always had a thing for this song
https://youtu.be/8uxiLQuJwf0

MC Erik & Barbara - Sen
Slovak group again. Yeah it's cheesy. I love it lol
https://youtu.be/dPfPkdcKDHQ

Mmm... not really sure why I'm showing off those female singers, but they came to mind quickly.
