I will not hesitate to point out to them that I've been studying mythology and world religions since I was old enough to read, though. There are plenty of people out there who genuinely struggle or are really trapped in abusive relationships. I've read the other replies to my post, and while it seems like she's genuinely awful, not divorcing while being in a toxic relationship doesn't mean much. Many women are trapped with an abusive companion and don't divorce because they fear punishment, have nowhere to go or just blame themselves and paint the companion as someone who's abusive because they love them.

Not saying Melania is one of them (indeed, it seems she's not at all), but this argument shifts the blame on the victim.

I agree, and I don't mean to diminish the plight of women who are trapped with abusive partners. I'm specifically talking about Melania Trump, and I don't think she needs sympathy when there are plenty of people out there who are really in difficult situations.

"Infiltrated" is a strong word, but if you don't think it's happening, you don't pay enough attention to the political threads here. Every once in a while, someone "crosses the line" and gets banned. Then they come back with an alt-account, which also gets banned. Other forums are ACTIVELY discussing having secret accounts here and spreading misinformation. Do you think these people just stick to Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit? Do you think that the largest video game forum on the internet is immune to these disinformation campaigns? For some reason, nowadays people aren't skeptical enough of other "people" on the internet. You don't know if they are who they say they are or what their intentions are. I don't think it's so far-fetched to side-eye anyone who claims they're on the left of the spectrum but push talking points that actively help Trump, who's literally tearing this country apart. Biden isn't perfect, but why are we encouraging others not to vote for him when Trump is defending racists, murderers, and racist murderers?

I finally stopped when I saw current and ex staff parrot that ableism in discord. I've never been closer to leaving this community than I was then. I'm really glad that they finally started cracking down, though even then people would tiptoe around it by saying the same "I'm not saying he has dementia, but..." shit that people are doing here. I encourage people to report those posts because that wouldn't fly for any other -ism that gets moderated here. For that matter, when was the last time someone made a blatantly -ist post and only got a week with the banner not even reflecting the bigotry like the ban in this thread?
