It's ridiculous to meltdown over this when it's a 30 hour game, when only the most in-tune audience will know about these leaks (much less read them), and that this won't impact sales.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake's assets and story were leaked multiple times throughout its development. Kingdom Hearts 3 was leaked. Persona 5's story was leaked before even the Japanese release.

Having read up on the former before release, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game. It didn't affect sales of the game.

I don't get why this is the arbitrary line in the sand that's drawn.

I wasn't even aware that those games had story leaks. Though to be fair I wouldn't have been searching for that or would have avoided them if there was a thread about it.

For sure. I agree that the leak itself isn't going to determine peoples actual experience with the game (especially if they decided to not view said spoilers). It's more like I get why if you are part of the project you are a little bummed out. Of course in time this will be all water under the bridge. I kind of see it like when a music artist has someone leak (not purposefully) an album or track in an unfinished state. The actual properly mixed track/album will arrive, but they wish that the first impression wasn't a compressed version that was missing the bass track here and a vocal there.
