Then you're nearly at the end of Battle Tendency. Stardust Crusaders is where the series picks up for a lot of people.

Season 1&2 now done.

you mentioned ep 40 and and a mansion. by season 2, did you mean you were already on part 3 stardust crusaders with jotaro?

parts 1&2 are lumped together into the first "season", and part 3 is like 45+ eps so wasn't sure which part you were on

Yeah was on part 3 that was actually listed as season 2 on Netflix. Stand users etc.

Oh, ok. Then you were on Stardust Crusaders. What did you think of that?

Part 1- Phantom Blood (Johnathan up to Dio and the Ship to America)
Part 2- Battle Tendency (Joseph Joestar, the nazis, and Pillar Men)
Part 3- Stardust Crusaders (Walk like an Egyptian, Jotaro Kujo, and the group)

Now you gotta wait for Netflix to put up:

Part 4- Diamond is Unbreakable (Josuke Higashikata [breaking the Jo-Jo in name tradition], Jotaro being older, 1999, Joseph being super old, Morioh town mysteries, Stands continuing) which would be "Season 3."

The reason 1-2 are together on Netflix and not seperate is because the anime condensed them. It's really weird, coming from the Manga where there's a set "Stop" point and you get "oh this is a new arc" from it.

I haven't gotten to Part 5-6 yet (waiting for Viz to [re]translate part 4 and I'm catching up with the anime to see how they animate it as a primary manga reader) but Adult Swim had them already, so they're out there if you can hunt down Part 4 (Crunchyroll?) without waiting for Netflix.

Generally liked stardust crusaders, although after such an epic travel to get to Dio the end fight seemed a little rushed really, but had good payoffs I guess, I will hunt down the next season online and start watching that.
I generally don’t trust crunchyroll as they’ve been hacked too many times to put my payment info in.

Sure I can find it on some “watchjojo” page online and just carry on from there.  I watched dubbed and it was mostly okay but I think watching subs would be better so won’t mind going back to that as a lot of the Japanese characters across the screen didn’t have translation so at some points I think you miss hidden context to some things.

I'd suggest getting into the Manga personally. But that's just me being biased and wanting you to read like 100+ chapters. :doge

The good thing I'll say about the anime is that it generally condenses the manga arcs and hits all the plot-points pretty successfully. Even like 80-90% of scenes (like the Polnareff toliet scene) get in.

Haha the Facebook clip was funny, I just saw I have a month trial code for crunchyroll so just used that to carry on for now, guess I can also finally watch DBZ Super as well whilst I’m at it too. How comes the one piece selection is so small? Did they lose the rights to it or something?! I have a lot of that to catch up on as well. Least with not going out I can just have it on in the background whilst I’m doing other things

You mean Yu Yu Hakusho? I have heard of it, but I know nothing about it.

manga > anime

always

I agree, especially for One Piece where the art for the anime is pretty trash. (I mean Oda's style is pretty eh... but the anime...) But Jojo's anime has a lot of love/care put into it because it's a pretty good abridged version of the manga. So if someone DOESN'T want to read and would rather watch 20 minute episodes over doing 2-3 chapters in the same amount of time, I'd recommend the anime to them. :yeshrug
