Hi lovely bore bro's ^_^. Im sitting at home without a job at the moment, and I was bored out of my skull. So I thought Id try my hand at learning to use Adobe Premiere to make a PUBG meme compilation. I just followed some youtube tutorials and found it mostly pretty easy, also took inspiration from other meme compilations ofcourse. Although I did use AVID back in school when I studying. Most of my time spent was keying stuff frame by frame like the faces and stuff like that. Also wanted to make sure the music lined up perfectly in each instance.

I don't know if there are any editors here on the bore, but I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me :). If this belongs more on the gaming side (because it is a gaming video) maybe move the thread.

Pretty happy with how it turned out if I say so myself, for a first video. And I made it within 7 days O_o! Pretty pretty proud of myself right now so I just wanted to share the video and hope to get any feedback :). Also if you enjoyed the video please share it with any friends who might play PUBG and might find it funny? Shameless self promotion I know  :-* but I really appreciate the chance to share this with you guys :)

That's about 1 minute of video per day.
So if you wanted to make a 90 minute feature film it would take you at least 130 days of editing.

Not bad for a stoner tbh

some people will say "the sign of a good editor is that you notice them doing their job", this video is the counterpoint to that.

I put together this awesome compilation of clips of It's Always Sunny Christmas special where Mac and Charlie try to get Ricky out of his rut, but I got copyright claimed and it says it cannot be shown on Youtube. I see plenty of other Sunny clips on Youtube so what gives?

I even put some Sunny songs in the background and edited a few scenes so they wouldnt be as long. :(

its almost always audio that would get our videos copyright claimed so it might have been the songs? that stuff is all automated so it's kinda hard to tell what will get claimed.

I edited some stuff, it showed me the clip with Ricky Falcone was the one that was copyrighted, so I mirrored that, and also edited in some scenes where Ricky looks at Mac & Charlie that I copied and reversed from a different scene. I dunno, maybe that all helps. I uploaded the new video as private so I put it on public later I dunno.

Argh what the hell, still blocked. Fox is really cockblocking me on this one

I dont want to monetize it, I just want to put it together for laughs really.

iirc non-monetized videos had a far lesser chance of being copyright claimed as well, worth noting. i also haven't dealt much with youtube's nonsense in a few years so it could all be changed now.

recursivelyenumerable

  • you might think that; I couldn't possibly comment
  • Senior Member
idg the appeal of "monetization" to begin with, money isn't real it's just some pieces of paper or little trinkets or bits 'n' bytes in a computer, who cares

Hot damn even though it's copyrighted it says Public now! Which means people should be able to find it if they search for : In a rut Sunny

I did file a dispute saying there are a ton of Sunny vids on Youtube so maybe that helped

In all honesty, if you want to learn how to make a certain thing, like a trailer, find an example of a trailer that you love. Break it down, shot-for-shot, timing, audio, all of it. Then make your own version of that but with different content.

you've certainly learned more in 7 days than i have in like 3 weeks  :lol

which tutorials did you use, if you don't mind me asking?

That’s interesting, but it’s all from one source, it’s unclear how you edited, where your choices were made. It would be more interesting to me to see something shorter, more tightly edited. But that’s just me! You’ve already done more with the video editing suite that I am capable of doing, I’m just habitually slipping into art director mode.

the trailer was nice, in that it was competent, but it didn't look like there were many fancy effects and transitions and such. a bit plain, imo.

also, there's a reason trailers aren't supposed to be ~4 mins long  :wag

Yeah, the length was dictated by the song (although I edited one of the choruses out), so I guess it was made more in the spirit of a music video than a trailer, hehe.

Yeah I agree, but sometimes it's hard to understand what they used to make it. Like a lot of gaming montages use clips that were edited in After Effects, but that's something I haven't really gotten into much yet.

I made this one pretty quick, within a few days basically. I should put more effort into it I suppose

Thanks dude :D. Well I thought I had saved a lot of the Premiere tutorials in a playlist but they were either deleted or I didnt save them. In the beginning I think I had checked out MortarMarv () on just how to edit a funny gaming video. Then basically whenever I saw an effect or transition I liked I would find a tutorial on how its used, mostly those are 1/2 minutes so it's easy to learn.

I say Adobe Premiere is easy to learn but hard to master

Guys I have a question I hope someone can help me with.

How would I go about creating a fake 80's style videogame ornaction figure commercial?

Would I need to have the box itself or can I fake it in post? Do I need to have an actual action figure or can I just use unboxing footage from the webs?

For anyone to help you they'd at least need an outline of what you actually plan to do.

Find one you like on YouTube.
Match it shot for shot, timing, composition, lighting, audio, but use your subject.
Repeat as needed.

Yeah that all sounds great but what if I dont have access to any real props, could I take footage from an unboxing?

Like I would want to make a fake commercial for the BT Titanfall 2 action figure

Like this one

It would probably cost me an arm and a leg to buy this just for the purpose of an fake commercial.

Realistically I only need to create a small 10 second clip but it could be a lot of work

What i want to do is have a guy saying "Buy the BT and Jack Cooper Action Figures now at only 59,99$" or something like that, showing the box etc. Maybe have a shot of some kids but it would be hard since I cant get any real footage of kids playing with it

I do have a boxed Power Rangers action figure I won once but its a pretty smallish box and action figure

i could maybe use some of this footage
