Level 100 is going to be a slog, I might not bother for it. I've pretty much exhausted all the good point challenges, the rest are meager piss drops of XP compared. And multiplayer only gives you like at most 200 per match. I'm at Level 61 or so and I need almost 10,000 per level.

It's looking like a 970/1000 game for me. Gonna work on the Legend badge grind tomorrow

I'm currently level 59 and have only done a few of the Get Hard challenges; though I have been playing online quite a bit, so that might be why I'm getting a bunch of XP

EDIT: I'm a dumbass and see now that you already know grinding in multiplayer is probably route you have to go for level 100

For some motivation to keep playing this after finishing the goals I started trying to go through the all gaps challenges. Maaaan, some of these are annoying and I had to play with stats and lower some speed/air to make certain ones. Also the camera/jumping can be rough.

I feel like the only change I'd have really liked is a more precise way to jump forward out of ramps. I hold up when jumping and like 75% of the time it works and I fly out of the ramp, and 25% I just go up and down like normal. Also boneless jumping has always been and still is awful and feels totally random. On Wharehouse the transition gap from the half-pipe -> wall ride out to the ledge grind took me like 30 mins and drove me nuts because I'd overshoot or undershoot every damn time and then the taxi -> ledge boneless took a few. All the rest were fine.

Might try to do all the gaps in both games, idk.

What's a flat land? On Tony Hawk challenges there's one for the hanger to do a 30,000 combo off the outside it's cold out there without grinds/flatlands but specials are ok. Does that mean no manuals? Because I can't seem to get it with manuals and without manuals how the fuck do you get 30,000 in a single jump with no combo multiplier? The 900 is only worth like 9,000 points.

Ah you get a multiplier for each spin, and can get off a single jump flip after a revert without a manual for +1x multiplier. Didn't know that.

I get all my combo points in these games just doing manuals forever after starting with a 900 + revert.

The problem with Tony Hawk 6 is vicarious visions are a pure remake studio afaik so there’s a risk it could be full of shitty levels

I mean, in my non-game-developer-opinion, if they stick to the classic formula, it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to make Tony Hawk stages. Make fun interactive areas with ramps and rails and stuff you can activate to open new areas up and make gaps and skate lines and place the S-K-A-T-E letters around and hidden tape, etc... goals.

Like I'm sure it's not easy, but I think the biggest issue most TH developed games had was trying to change the formula. Just stick to this formula, don't change shit and a competent developer should be able to make stages.

That being said, if they can bring back some of the original level designers from Neversoft (who may still be at Activision in some other teams after Neversoft was closed, which should make it easier), that would probably make doing that much easier. They don't really need any of the old staff other than the level designers since VV is more than competent at visuals/animation/music/sound and the game does not need a story or writing.

). Neversoft had some god tier level design at their peak that they probably don’t get enough credit for

I am not sure if I would rather a standalone 3+4 or one big giant integrated thing.

I kind of checked out around THUG so would be ok with that, but honestly 1+2 is the nostalgia bomb for me and my hype will just dwindle as they milk I think.

Another thing that I was thinking about this weekend is what a strange game it was/is. basically a score attack platform game but the platforming is all in direct lines (set in open stages). really not a lot like it.
