My girlfriend bought me some Amaryillis flowers to plant, unfortunately I do not have any sort of green thumb whatsoever.

Nope, I put down six transplanted bamboo shoots on an empty patch of yard about six years ago. :win

Is Oklahoma even wet enough for bamboo?

I haven't seen any in Oklahoma, but there's a lot of growing across the river in Tejas.

I know barely anything about plants, but apparently certain types of cactus love whatever I do. My mom gave me a little one long ago, and somebody saw it and they gave me another type. Then both had like twenty babies who all had twenty babies until I forced them to kill for their survival because I'm not buying anymore damn pots and repotting them for the rest of my life. :existential

I have other plants but none of them produce like cactus and they're just what people give me which I immediately forget what they're called. Except spider plants? That's the only others I think I've had make babies on me.

Plant deathmatches are kinda cool. I had a spikey armed cactus thing that I put on the porch to get more sun one time and a sunflower seed from a bird got in the pot and it started growing a sunflower stalk. The cactus arms slowly moved around it over a few days and cut it off till it died. I made him King Cactus by giving him the most primo spot in my then apartment. Then he had twenty babies.

Huh, I am somehow able to get a lot of plants to grow (at least until they decide dry indoors air isn't for them) but every cactus I've ever had has died almost instantly lol. Same for any other type of succulent.

Atm I'm experimenting with growing plants from seeds I took from fruits. A couple of my store-bought plants have started to die so it'd be good if some of my experiments thrive enough to take their spots. Starting to run out of pots though.

During the summer I thought I'd try growing something on the balcony, maybe tomato, beans or bell pepper. I can't see that going well but I could still give it a go.

Because of covid boogaloo im probably not travelling this year, so i've decided to put that money towards remodeling my apartment. As part of the remodel I'll be putting in three of these indoor hydroponic panters

and converting my second balcony to a tomato/pepper/chilli/potato/bean farm.

The indoor planters are like $550 each, but as an amateur carpenter I can make it for not much more than the price of the grow lights and hydro pump. And yes, i'll be growing some weed, but i'll do that in a vertical wall farm and it will be useful weed.

might drop this at a friend's house instead of doing it here though, it would just mess with the look of my remodel.

plans are afoot, maybe i change my mind, maybe not boogaloo

Smallish city, near the Adria, sounds pretty good to me and the late West-Roman emperors. :pimp

Monotropa Uniflora — Ghost Flower

These are awesome, require specific conditions to grow, and are flowers/plants without any chlorophyll! They are ultimately still sun reliant life, as they get energy from fungi/mold that is getting ITS energy from tree roots.

Love em!
