i'm "on call", so i still technically am an employee, but speaking practically, the same as being unemployed
but here's what's weird about my situation. my employer put me 'on call' because business apparently slowed down. not surprising right? what with us being in a global pandemic right?
except that, i've been told talking to my colleagues that things got super busy again, supposedly even busier than before the pandemic. also, as far as i know...i was the ONLY one who was put 'on call', literally everyone else in my team is still working.
now you may say "well, maybe they put on a pretense and just wanted to fire you in a polite way?". which i've also thought. plenty of times
. however, i learned a few weeks ago that they extended my contract for another three months.
so i'm curious. is there like any, business or regulation related reason they would still keep me on as an employee without actually having me work?
