Man, I couldn't agree more. That song was everywhere at the time and I hated it.

Aerosmith is a good one. Below one utterly useless:

I looked at a few lists and a lot of these are terrible and/or low-effort, but some of them are so bad they are kinda good (Ninja and Addam's raps, etc.)?

Didn't expect to see BLAZE OF GLORY or GOONIES R GOOD ENOUGH on the lists, I genuinely like those.  :doge

I do like me some Aerosmith, but I wouldn't include that song in my greatest hits compilation for that band. I will also admit I liked it as a kid. I'm pretty sure they played it at one of the concerts I went to as well (seen them twice).

But I'm glad you bring up a rock band making a song for a movie. Remember when Soundgarden got back together? The timing is a little murky to me. I think the first single off of King Animal was "I've Been Away for Too Long". And I was down with that. Next time around I think I was with my friends and they wanted to go see the latest Transformers or Marvel movie. Well, if the crowd is in favor who am I to say no. In the credits though...

(ah, so it was Avengers). Yeah when I heard this I was like "oh no. Now I'm scared of the new album." Turns out that King Animal was above average with about 3 or 4 strong cuts.

edit: Looking at the timeline, this would have actually been the first song the band released after they reunited. Yeah so no wonder I was a little  :-\ at first before they started to preview the actual album material.

I forgot this was a song until I went on a GnR binge the other night. Axl sounds like he singing with a bucket on his head.

Bonus trivia. Matt Cameron (drummer for Soundgarden) was the drummer on that ass Hero song too. Matty boy what is it with you and bad movie songs?

This is some BS too, there was a music video with things from the movie that played with it but cannot find it anywhere.

Me and my dad don't have too much in common, but making a face when Brian Adams comes on the radio is our father/son bonding experience.

they showed me terminator, alien and all sorts of fucked up films, but Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves is the one that scarred me as a kid...

I'm gonna defend this because its a solid impression of a Will Smith Track by missah worlwide, and it tonally fits the film where Jemaine Clement is doing a solid Tim Curry impression, Thanos is doing a solid Tommy Lee Jones impression, Alice Eve is doing a solid Emma Thompson impression and Bill Hader is doing a solid Andy Warhol impression.

My pick:
What would be the type of track to round a film like Con Air off?
Not this.

while I guess it's probably nowhere near the actual worst song, my choice is

because (1) it's in a pretty good movie that otherwise features a lot of great classic songs and (2) it was obnoxiously unescapable in the late 80s~early 90s

I feel that way about Will Smith’s “wild wild west” — it’s a catchy song made as an advertisement. It’s an earworm, but it’s not a good song.
