Hits one of my niche interests: obscure Game Gear games. I feel the GG is a pretty underrated platform and has some interesting content once you get past all the jokes about the bad battery life (which is nullified if you're playing on an emulator or eventually the Analogue Pocket)

The main issue with the CRT love that I have is that most CRT TV's just weren't as good as those Sony ones.
You'd be more likely to have a mediocre Panasonic or shitty Philips because back then Sony was the more expensive and premium brand.
LCD's had their draw backs but in most cases they were better out of the box than a great number of CRT's during the Wii / Xbox 360 era.

In a few decades when there's holo screens or whatever, people might look back fondly at the OLED panels of LG and the perfect blacks.
But again, that's a panel that most people don't have.

The best thing about CRTs wasn't the image quality but the lack of perceived input lag (at least on Macs) imo. Just moving a mouse cursor was so immediate regardless of the screen refresh rate. With LCDs for the longest time there was always a slight delay that everyone gets used to and forgets but it's night and day with a CRT.

That's some good stuff.. couldn't stop watching. Need to see what MGSV stuff he was (not) talking about now...

I've been yearning for some more MG. I never realized that MGSV never had a NG+, which sucks ass because I want to play it some more.... then again, I guess that would interfere with homebase progression. *sigh I'm ready for Konami to re-release these on modern consoles... all 5. All I ask is they don't stick us with Twin Snakes over the superior PS1 version.
