I see you have left Canada off your list.  You know when others called you a bad poster I didn't see it.  Now though.

I didn't want to just list all the white countries

  • It was all going to be very admirable and noble and it would show us - philosophically - what it means to be human.

"Countries" developing the vaccine is kind of a laughable concept (outside of Russia, I'm sure Putin has doctors and scientists imprisoned working round the clock to develop something there)

It's big ass pharma companies doing this, being given grants by some governments and the WHO

No vaccine needed. Viruses hate the heat. Wait till summer. It’ll be gone.

Moderna’s vaccine making it to phase 3 testing is a pretty big deal.  Last I heard was that the research coming out of the Oxford group showed a lot of promise too, but I’ve not really followed up with it.

Regardless, completing phases 1 & 2 of testing is itself an accomplishment (majority of IP tested don’t make it past the phase1 trials), so I’m hoping either or both continue that success and make it to market soon.

Dutch hospitals have developed a treatment using existing medicines that lowered the death rate by 60%.
There's also a single dose vaccine we're testing that is moving into the human trials phase, however that won't be ready until 2021.

Meanwhile the British Oxford vaccine seems the most effective so far and is furthest along with human trials and that will be available late 2020.
Our government has ordered hundreds of thousands of doses.

China will probably be the 'first' though, having plenty of prisoners for human trials but if their first vaccine is anything like their firsts tests you'd be wise to stay clear.

It doesn't really matter which country invents it first when we all know one particular country is just going to gazump everyone elses buy orders and buy up all the worldwide stocks because there's an election and they fucked up any prevention measures.
