I just pulled a muscle hard in my midback on one side of the spine. Was not good, been feeling achy in that area after work out sometimes here and there, but stretching in general when it was achey cleared it up. I do beat saber for my cardio so a lot of flailing arms up and down and left/right very quickly.
Was on the last song for my workout and did a swing up and just felt sharp pain and literally collapsed on the floor. Took some pain meds, iced a few times, but basically left side of my body is locked into place. I had to cook dinner and clean a bit, and holy hell that was difficult while trying not to rotate/reach/bend.
If I don't move like sitting now and typing it's fine outside a dull ache pain, but a lot of movements just freak it out and instant 10/10 pain and cramping and freezing up. Breathing's a pain too because ribcage.
As much as this sucks, and hopefully will feel a lot better in the morning, I'm more concerned about long term issues and making it so I can't safely play beat saber for indoor cardio warm up. Would need to get a stairmaster or something (no room for a treadmill) since I need something indoor to work up a sweat for 20-30 mins daily. Don't want to fall out of shape.
I need to not play for a week or so and let it really heal up and then learn a few more back stretches to do as warm up before the warm up. It uses a weird muscle that you don't normally use, so the standard stretches don't seem to really hit that area of the off-center back.
