The Cure > The Smiths
you know... the smiths can probably cobble together a stronger 'best of' but disintegration is better than any full smiths release :trumps

Robert Smith wasn't a secret chud the entire time and the cure have fucked around stylistically WAY more, smiths were just 'I'm sad with jangly guitars'.

Standing on a beach is the best Cure album. I like it a lot, but it's not as good as any of the four Smiths albums  :patel

Can't agree with Breeders > Pixies, but Kim Deal is the best.

The Breeders and Mark E Smith used to drink in the same bar in Edinburgh. When he got pissed he'd get up and do karaoke, or just shout abuse at folk.

The Breeders had like 3 songs. Pixies are better.

Harsh truth is Belly was better.

well wait...

Belly and Throwing Muses. Pixies never had a song half as good as Bright Yellow Gun. Also the Frank Black solo record was better.

If we're doing 90's music hot takes, then STP had the best 4 album run of any band from that era. Making the Pearl Jam/Nirvana discussion pretty moot.

I really hated Pearl Jam. I didn't like Nirvana all that much either, but PJ's singer was an almighty dickhead. I liked Mudhoney. They were a good band.
