As long as it has the proper scaling options, it should be fine, but it may also depend on which consoles you're using- I used a 16:10 monitor 10 years ago and the 360 worked great with it (black bars on the top/bottom), but the PS3 was all stretched out. I ended up playing on a much smaller 16:9 TV before finally getting a new 16:9 monitor.
