found this video on YT. to be fair, i don't know much of the dude outside cultural osmosis.  kinda nut how popular this self help industry is. is this a uniquely american thing like mlms?

it's long AF, but very entertaining and insightful about this weird ass dude. no need to watch the video to comment. just wanna share it.

No. But I do admit that as far as "big names" go, I am not aware of those outside of the US. Definitely have seen various self help presentations and self help gurus doing presentations on stage in other countries too.
My mom made me go see one during my time in college  :lol

Self help isn’t a uniquely American thing. It’s just like all the fad religions and guru’s of the past. But for some reason we continue to believe in such bullshit it’s a real testament to the power of denial.

I liked the audio mixing on the intro being so shrill I turned off the video after 5 seconds. Skipped through the video and her voice is just unpleasant to listen to in general. Awful mixing.

I have to admit sometimes I don't feel guilty for people who get scammed by get rich/self-help/John Edwards/sex-cults at ALL. Or even just the people who buy shit because an influencer told them it will make them pretty/healthy/happy. You just have to tell yourself that even thought it's not their fault you can't help them.
