One of my favorite franchises for sure. Not sure if I wanna spoil some of the mini-games with this demo or just wait for the full release.

Warioware Twisted on GBA still my favorite.

Also the DS had this Game Center DX series that was Warioware except the mini-games were like 10-20 seconds from different classic retro games. It was so cool. I wish they still did that.

NES Remix was the successor basically by the same developers.

DIY! > GC > Twisted! > GBA > Touched! > Smooth Moves > Game & Wario

It is known.

(I haven't played the 3DS collection thing, but its nature as a collection sorta precludes it anyways. There was also a DSi game I never played and never heard about.)

The demo is a lot of fun and puts to rest the worries I had after the E3 trailer. Really excited for this to release now. Will probably keep playing the demo ad nauseam.

Entirely due to changing gaming mores and I'd be hard pressed to change that opinion. Much of the negativity in IGN's review, for instance, could be applied to any game in the series.

Those who have played the series in-depth seem more positive.

Wow, this game is getting kinda shitty reviews. I'm surprised. I didn't think you could make a bad game out of this series.

Seeing reviews that basically say it's the least fun game in the whole series  :'(

I'll still play it, but hype is definitely deflating.

I went in blind expecting them to go all in on the switch controllers, oops I guess that meant they would have fucked over all the switch mini users, nvm

This is the worst one, glad there was a demo. Gtfo with that price point

Easily the worst Warioware but still pretty fun. Will get to do multiplayer this weekend, might bump it up to an 8.0 if good.

DIY (DS) is easily the best, but less so now that Wi-Fi Connection is shutdown.

After that I liked Mega MicroGames (GC) and Touched (DS) most.

What was great about DIY?

I think I've played them all, though if there was a Wii one I might've missed that, and they were all great but twisted on GBA was the most memorable thanks to the unique controls of the acceleration add-on.

You could make your own MicroGames, and it was the basis for Mario Maker's level creation and sharing five years later.

Woaaah,

Maybe I missed that one? I don't remember this at all. Were there two on DS? I remember Touched.

Yup, it came out on DS in 2010. Was a ton of fun and even had a Wii channel for on-TV play.

Gold came out on 3DS a few years ago and is basically just a compilation of old microgames.

Its so good. Its more or less the same collection of games as the GC one (the GC version is basically a port with added multiplayer features).

I drunkenly bought Get It Together last night. The games were very obtuse when inebriated... will give it another go today

Gold came out on 3DS a few years ago and is basically just a compilation of old microgames.

So I took a look at the list of games to remember which I played and:

GBA original - Played
GBA Twisted - Played
DS Touched - Played and was not as good due to touch controls
Wii Smooth Moves - Played and was even more not as good due to motion controls

**Must have bailed on the franchise after that one

***Also I think Rhythm Heaven kind of took over as the better mini-game franchise from this point on and I just played those instead

DSi Snapped - Didn't play, never had a DSi
DS D.I.Y. - never played or knew it existed
Wii U Game & Wario - Don't think I played or heard of it despite owning like every one of the 12 Wii U games that existed
3DS Warioware gold - never played or knew it existed

So should I go with D.I.Y. or Gold? Is D.I.Y. good without the online portion and if I have no interest in making my own games? Is there a full good campaign included?

Also, in here I found out they were still releasing new 3DS games in 2018 wtf

I'm looking at Gold reviews and I'm like wait...they are only 3 years old...

*edit* after reading reviews of D.I.Y. and Gold, I'm just gonna get Gold and play that.

Finally started this and it's not bad. But getting stuck with a dud character on a specific mini game is pretty terrible.

I finished a test version couple of weeks ago. This isn't great, unless it's your first Wario game and you have no access to older games. It's just uninspired and the gameplay concept not an interesting idea.

Shortly after I went back to the Wii Wario there's so much more energy and creativity to it, I wasn't even bothered by the inherent 5% fail rate of motion controls. Playing it and the GBA game also highlighted the slow pace of the Switch title, plus lack of variety in microgames and humour.

:'(

Man, how do you fuck up Warioware!

Modern Nintendo. :idont Switch hype seems to stem mostly from the launch year games. But ever since, the biggest chunk of 1st party games like this felt halfbaked in some way or the other. Knowing the 3DS predecessor, I'm not expecting anything on Super/Prime level from Metroid Dread either - better be prepared.

I finally had a chance to check the game out, and was getting bored before the intro section was over.  What happened here?  I miss the GBA Wario Ware.

I don't think the other Wario Ware entries I've played, after the original, were as good, either.  It's like they didn't know what to do apart from using hardware for gimmicky stuff.  DIY sounds amazing though.  Would love to have that come back.

This has sold 1.24 million copies and is now the third-best-selling game in the series (after Touched and Smooth Moves).

...I still haven't bought it. 😬 But I probably will soon.
