No, it's being toxic and snobbish in both instances. But I don't have the same cultural and historical context and knowledge that I do for my own country's food so calling out people is harder on other fronts. Though you and others doing the whole "IT'S FINE TO BE TOXIC" thing completely ignored all context I, and others, have given... so I guess that knowledge doesn't matter much, unfortunately.

That and, frankly, the prerequisite for calling out others being toxic shouldn't be "you should call out literally all other toxicity under the sun."

The prerequisite for not being a hypocrite is sometimes complaining about the same issue when it's applied to someone other than yourself. You don't need "cultural and historical context" to know that processed cheese product is poor people food, which you've so vehemently railed against making fun of (and which most people on your side of the argument think is a valid target).

I don't have a problem with folks taking a shot at chittlins. I don't think it's toxic. But I do have a problem with folks getting self-righteous about it any time it's about something on your side of the Atlantic.

I love seeing longtime users realize when they are no longer on the top of the totem pole. I especially love it when they run to Twitter or someplace else and rant how the community was always shitty. Women who are claiming sexual harassment are pieces of shit?

They reported it and it went on deaf ears. It's clearly this recent ruling that gives them the courage now to go public about their experiences with the ex-president.

Not the ones that were harassed. I’m talking about the quoted people that literally watched him harass others and didn’t do anything about it.

People in charge have a duty to do more than just watch sexual harassment happen and just try make sure the person doesn’t get raped. Trying to offload it on meadows and wash their hands of it is ridiculous.

I feel like in a world of unprecedented access to indie and global media, it's actually much easier to drop artists who are shitbags than ever before, or to get away with not having seen some classics due to things like the Polanski situation. There's always someone else around the corner- probably for free or cheap- either doing something that interests you, or perhaps doing something that you never thought you needed. Expand your horizons.

Ignore history. It might make you feel bad.
