Any reasonable alternatives or is it just a matter of wait and see?
If you're only interested in lossless then there are fewer stores to choose from but some are below.
For a mix of releases including some obscurities but mostly electronic/moody leaning genres see
Bleep.com, who have good taste (a variety of artists I follow release both on bandcamp and Bleep), also
Boomkat.com is in a vaguely similar vein (though I rarely visit the latter). For electronic exclusives see
Junodownload.
For generalized, more popular music see
hdtracks,
7digital, or even Tidal if one can rip it.
For Japanese music see
Ototoy, though it's overpriced for some things.
There's also label-specific stores that offer lossless (and can be cheaper than buying from third-party stores). One's I can think of off the top of my head:
-
Ninjatune-
Tokyo Dawn RecordsFor video game OSTs there's a lack of lossless choices outside of Steam/GOG or physical CD (and obviously bandcamp) but GOG generally are good at mentioning if a release or DLC includes the lossless soundtrack.
