I think my brain is hardwired for fanboyism because I have an irrational fondness for Fords despite never owning one myself, and most of the people here outside my family shit-talk them near-universally.

If I had the money I'd take a hard look at the Mustang Mach-E. The hybrid Ford Maverick is apparently an amazing value, or so I've read. Being in rural New England, roughly half the vehicles here are trucks and I could see the utility being useful for moving film equipment (or even just being That One Friend With The Truck).

I'm a fan of the EV trend. More of this in general.

My family was a ford family.

My first vehicle was a ford explorer, and I loved that thing, I wanted to get a Ranger when time was up. But I did the whole "review online stuff" and found out the tacoma absolute annihilated it in he same price/form.

I'm just waiting for daddy musk to make a ranger sized cybertruck.

I want an electric Ranger badly too, for some reason I've always seen myself in one, probably cause my dad had an old one when I was like 0-11 years old. Current Rangers remind me a little too much of the F-150s (which makes sense sales-wise), and it seems the Maverick has taken the position of "smaller but still useful pickup."

I'm hoping the first car I buy myself will be a Maverick, at the moment anyways.

It’s the logo. They have the best logo.

I’ve driven a Ford plug in hybrid for the last five years and really like it. I wanted to get the mustang Mach e as my next car, but they sold out till 2023 before I could buy one so I ended up going with a Tesla.

Rivian is the better electric truck imo.

It's the default car logo in my brain. Like Coca-Cola is for sodas.

My family was a ford family.

Mine too.

1 Expedition, 2 Explorers, 4 F-150s, and one '69 Shelby Mustang shell my mom eventually convinced my dad to sell, over the course of about 20 years.

Also literally hundreds of issues of Mustang Monthly in the basement. My dad was the OG fanboy lol.

If you want it just put in the order asap since it’ll probably take a year to get made. It’s a shame the hybrid version doesn’t support AWD.

Thinking about it some more I may get a 1-2 year older used model. 🤔 Probably better for someone like me right now.
