I got in an accident in June last year. Some guy hit me after I sped through a red light. I spun around, no one got hurt but the cigarillo said his back was hurt, although I'm pretty sure he was lying. Insurance covered it. The cigarillo tried to sue 1 month after they settled it, insurance took care of him good.

I went to court for my ticket, and the judge gave me a court day for Feb 5, 2007. This was all the way in fucking July.

It's a court with jury, and I have hired a lawyer. I'm scared as fuck. What are they going to do? Take away my DL? But I haven't gotten in an accident or gotten a ticket since that last one.

I got a hair cut, shaved, and look like an outstanding negro so the jury won't stereotype.

I had a flat tire, it was early in the fucking morning, and I was nervous because I had never been in a situation like that. I let my emotions take over me when I was driving and didn't notice the red light until it was too late.

Anyways, the guy could have easily avoided it. There was no one next to him, and he could have went into the other lane.

Do you have a lawyer or a legal consultant? I don't know what kind of school you go to, but if there are law classes you could be able to get tips from teachers. Both of my law teachers were lawyers and I've seen students ask them for advice.

I replaced the tire with one of those really small tires. I was paranoid because you aren't supposed to drive with those on the freeway and IAH (Intercontinental Ariport) has it's share of free ways, that was the area I was in during the accident. I was home free, nervous, and didn't notice a red light until it was too late. I sped up, some cigarillo who could have avoided the accident hit me.

I don't think they take away your license if it was an accident. If you were drunk or it was a hit-and-run they probably would.

I remember the last time this lady cut me off I didnt have time to stop and hit her. Well anyway "hit" is a pretty extreme term since neither car hard damage. She kept trying to get me to just give her money outside of the insurance companies and of course I refused cause there was no way her lack of damage could hold up if the cop thought it was so silly he wouldnt even file a report for it as an accident.

When driving, just because someone makes a mistake doesn't mean you're allowed to. If someone makes a mistake, you correct yourself to make sure there is no accident, not just take it.

It was an accident with unique circumstances. Nobody calls a tow truck when they have a spare tire, that's really idiotic.

The only problem here was that he accidentally passed a red light. He says he didn't mean to and he was nervous and he'll only get a fine.

As everyone has already stated Himuro, you ran the red light therefor your totally at fault no matter what. If theres one thing my father taught me about driver (and is pretty much common sense). You cannot rely on other drivers to drive responsibly, therefor you have to drive defensively no matter what happens.

You were obviously driving aggressively when you ran that light, when one drives like this your chances of getting in a collision rise.

I never said I would bring up the "He could have avoided me" bit in court. I have documented that I place the blame on me. I merely said it because it's true; he had two open lanes and could have avoided. Just because someone fucks up doesn't mean you don't have the ability to fix yourself and avoid an accident. People make mistakes while driving all the time, it's your job to not get caught up in them.

This is the only reason I was on Himu's 11inch in this thread is because the way he's almost trying to force blame on someone else for something he did wrong bububu.

There would have been no reason for that guy to even be um "wrong" (?) if you haven't ran the red in the first place, just accept your fault like a man and stop trying to rationalise it and portion out the blame.
