Ok question time will connery be in it or not. That is the billion dollar questions. No connery no ticket sale. Harrison ford cant sell a film on his own anymore. Just look at his last two monumental failures. We all love Indy, but we love Indy's dad even more. I need to hear some more cocky funny from connery before the old mother fucker dies.

Fuck i cant sleep

Connery said if any film would bring him out of his acting retirement it would be Indy a few weeks ago.

Lucas has said Connery will be in it whether he wants to be or not.

Meaning? Most likely he will be.

I doubt Paramount would have finalized a date if they thought Harrison would quit.

That rumor started at a little site and spread for some reason.  The site was the same that started the rumor that Tom Cruise would be in Star Trek XI which J.J. Abrams said was not true so there you go.

Harrison Ford totally sold me on 6 Days, 7 Nights.  That film rocked all sorts of ass.  Anyways, I'll be in line Day 1 for this even if it turns out to be total ass.

I dont get why people are so worried about it being bad.

George Lucas did the story yes, but isn't it general consensus that Lucas is a brilliant story teller but tends to be very weak at writing the scripts for his story and directing? His best works (ESB & Raiders) are where he gave the script writing and directing to others so I don't see a problem with that.

And Steven Spielberg is directing this, it isn't like say a Die Hard 4 or something where the original director is long gone.

Indiana Jones 4 is done by the same team as Raiders, I don't see how a problem will arise.

I know, but there are many who are.

I don't get the rational behind it. The track record so far has proven solid yet people still expect the worst.

But as I said, Lucas while a weak writer and director has been pretty solid at coming up with stories and letting others craft them into scripts and direct them as shown with ESB and the Indiana Jones trilogy.

Wow Cheebs you are stupid. You don't see how problems will arise? :lol

I'm gonna see this no matter what, but the fact of the matter is that Ford is the same age Connery was when he played Indy's father. More than a decade ago.

In terms of the blockbusters...Iron Man will suck because it won't have Tom Cruise. Prince Caspian could be like a Sinbad movie so I look forward to it. Hulk will suck. The Dark Night will be the best movie of 2008 probably. Speed Racer lol. Wall-E wtf is that

I like Lucas. I respect what he did with Star Wars, and how he shared the profits of the original movies with his crew. Also I love his storytelling; Star Wars and Indiana Jones are iconic staples of American culture.

But I can't stand what he did with Star Wars. The movies could have possibly been better if he allowed others to write the screenplay. But like M Night Shamalynan he seems unwilling to let someone else do it for him, perhaps out of arrogance. Both of them simply can't write scripts anymore

He is willing still. He outlined Indiana Jones IV and wrote the story but he gave it to David Koepp.

ALSO Revenge of the Sith was ghost-re-written by another screen writer. The final ROTS script was not by Lucas(though he took credit for it, thus it being ghost-rewritten).

Who wrote the final ROTS script? Tom Stoppard. The man who co-wrote BRAZIL.

I am not a star wars apologist. the prequels cant compare to ANH and ESB. ROTJ vs ROTS is debatle but I would easily say:

1. ANH (nostalgia puts it above ESB for me)
2. ESB

50. ROTJ
51. ROTS

100. TPM(yes, TPM ahead of AOTC)
101. AOTC

TPM felt like a film more so than AOTC and ROTS which seemed to go over the top in cgi and I liked that.

ROTS ahead of AOTC purely because it had much better "action" and for Palpatine, the only well acted character in the prequels. Both were meh in story. ROTJ outside the last 20 min or so was a bore.

My problems with the sequals

Shitty shitty story (RoTJ has the best story)
Crappy  overused CGI (none in RoTJ)
Cardboard acting (RotJ has some good acting for the trilogy)
Prequals rely too much on flashy shit that doesnt fit in the universe
They also dont even match up correctly with original trilogy. Like, WHY THE FUCK DID AMADALA DIE GIVING BIRTH? YOU SHITHEAD GEROGE DONT YOU REMEMEBR THE SCENE IN ROTJ WHERE LEIA SAS SHE REMEMBERS HER REAL MOTHER.

ROTJ to me was nothing more than muppets and ewoks but with a damn fantastic 20 min finale with Ian McDiarmid being awesome.
Harrison's acting in ROTJ was disappointing. He was not putting effort into it and it was obvious.

Ian McDiarmid is the only watchable actor in the prequels. Somehow(outside a few moments in ROTS) he is able to take the insane dialog's and make it sound good.

AOTC takes the crown of shittiness for me for the fireplace scene alone. WTF was that retardly written, awfully acted abomination? That, along with the "sand is rough, your skin is smooth" garbage are possibly the 2 worst scenes in film history.

Yea, but it sucks. I saw it twice in the theater and liked it a bit, but once I got the DVD and watched it without the surrounding hype I saw it for what it was. Basically people wanted to see Star Wars NOT go out like a pussy, and the movie wound up getting lots of praise simply because it didn't suck as bad as the other two. I suppose it's "fun" but it's also pretty damn stupid

ROTS had the worst action, the worst acting, the worst directing and the worst editing of all three.  I don't know what you're on about.

TPM looked like a film, was way better paced, edited, written and acted.  Also, the duel at the end was superior, by far, to any in Revenge of the Sith.  All of the action in ROTS was distinguished mentally-challenged, and again, looked like video captured from Star Wars: Battlefront

Just by a hair.  In honesty, they're both pretty atrocious.  AOTC has worse dialogue, but is more coherent.  I remember watching ROTS in Hollywood with film school grads and they were like, "WTF was that?  That wasn't even a movie!"

AOTC was horrible to the point I can't watch it. The special effects in the movie are just terrible, especially in the city scenes.

At least ROTS had a couple interesting parts. I love the scene where Palpatine tells Anakin about the mitochorians lol :lol

WTF that scene is awful.  Let's cram a bunch of exposition that should've been fleshed out over the entire trilogy into one distinguished mentally-challenged CG-filled sequence and in one swoop, bring back the dreaded M-word (midichlorians are the dumbest fucking thing ever).

ESB, depsite being far and away the best of a crap series, is still an INSTALLEMENT IN A CRAP SERIES. The acting remains uniformly awful (a few bit characters aside), the plot is utter sci-fi fluff, and the directing (of the actors in particular; less so the shots) is still largely incompetent. Again, theme, set direction, and costuming are good, but they don't excuse the general awfulness of Lucas' "epics".

Yeah, the Anakin/Palaptine theatre scene is, to mix my metaphors, pure scenery-chewing ham. The only scene that's worse is the distinguished mentally-challenged porn faces scene when Windu and Palpatine fight. WTF!

I may change my vote to RotS as the worst movie. Besides, I think I've managed to banish AotC from my memory completely.
