Im gonna say valentines day is stupid because basically its saying:

Hey you celebrate your relationship on THIS day of the year, the rest of the year you can be all passive aggressive and lazy and whatever else. V-Day is a big old front. People should be nice and considerate and treat their significant other ANY day of the year. Making it THIS day of the year is a big ol COP OUT.

Not just because of the way I've felt about ya the past week, but because this is an honest response:

"Hey you celebrate your relationship on THIS day of the year, the rest of the year you can be all passive aggressive and lazy and whatever else."

Why do you feel that way about relationships?

Because the whole holiday thing is so ritualized. Its sorta how I feel about people who go to church. A lot of religious types ive met use SUNDAY as they day to get all down with religion, but the rest of the week theyre fucking pricks to everyone they meet.

I find there are more honest feelings in doing a nice thing daily than betting all of your chips on one or two days of the year. Dont get me wrong, Im not ruling out the possibility that there are couples out there that are not only great all year around but also celebrate the holidays, but ill be damned if thats actually a big number.
