FFVI, LUNAR KNIGHTS :punch

My birthday is next week so I need to know if Lunar Knights is any good. I don't trust the bookies at Famitsu or American shit sites to review my passtimes. I need a man of conviction to tell me whether a game is shit in a frying pan or heaven in a 40 :bow

Why is it necessary to have a review of FFVI? The game is over 10 years old, and it's basically a port with awesome extras that make the game even more awesome.

music's taken a bit of a hit in FF6. Other than that, it's still good fun.

what are the extras added to FF6? Since my copy of FF7 crapped out on me I've had a craving to play a Final Fantasy, I might pick FF6 up.

new characters (leo and gesthahl), new espers, new side quests, and for the first time ever: FFVI uncut released in America. The SNES version lacked a lot of dialogue because they couldn't fit it in the cart and stuff, so chances are, we'll be getting more story this time.

Leo and Gestahl aren't playable. The translation is loads improved over the WACKY "HATEHATEHATE" CRAP of the Woolsey translation. The one scene that stuck out is when Sabin and Cyan get stuck in Nikeah and a dancer shows her tits to Cyan -- definitely not in the kooky PG-13 world of Woolsey's translation! :lol

What happen when she showed them her tits

Leo and Gesthahl aren't playable? I heard they were because there were screen caps from teh Japanese version months ago.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
When you float to Nikeah during Sabin's viewpoint, talk to the dancer in the pub. She takes a hankerin' to Cyan, and shows him "Humpty" and "Dumpty". He freaks and runs away, calling her a "shameless howler" (lol). Whe he asks Sabin why the tits didn't distress him, Sabin laughs and says "that's my ascetic training at work!" (also I think he's gay.) No 16-color pixel tats are shown, though -- just the usual wibble animated sequence. It's funny, though!

The Leo and Gestahl pics were from a hacked ROM.

Lunar Knights is great so far. The setting is hilarious tho, one of the main characters is a eye-patch wearin loner that fights vampires, and has a spaceship that goes into space and fights mech/spaceships. Its like ZoE+MGS+BOKTAI

How is the touch screen incorparated? I know you use it to control the ship in certain instances, but is it used in basic ground combat/gameplay as well?

You use it for all ship controls which works, but on the harder bosses moving both the ship AND firing can get a little frantic. The touch screen isn't really used in-game aside from touching the screen to fuse with your familiar for your superform. Otherwise touchscreen is optional on the menus.

You sorta wanna use the stylus for the menus cause god DAMN if pressing buttons too soon doesnt get you stuck in rambling shopkeeper loops.

Also the other main character has a distraction technique which requires you blow into the microphone. When you do he whistles and throws enemies off. This works pretty well actually but to avoid spitting all over my DS I had to put my head close enough to blow LIGHTLY and still have it register.
