I had to do a film project in high school over WWI movies. My group used Paths of Glory and All Quiet on the Western Front to explain the emotional consequences the war had on people. Both are great movies.

How would you say this compares to Full Metal Jacket? I found FMJ to be wonderful, but I'm sure a lot disagree because a lot of the film is disjointed and subtle. Also, the last 2 sections of the movie aren't as powerful as the first part, so that kind of works against it.

Paths of Glory is much better than Full Metal Jacket and it's exponetially better than 2001.  No monkeys or space fetuses here!

I dont mean to be an ass, but its annoying when I visit evilbore for the first time on a given day and theres 5-6 PD threads about different movies (and his following misinterpretations/"criticism" of them) staring at me.
