Drinky Crow and MAF never really said anything bad on GAF. They mainly trolled, which seems to be legal here.

The policy is lenient here. Just don't be obnoxious, or racist or post obscene images. Chicks with big knockers are allowed to be posted. Guys with no shirts are game too (although I think we chased Nick away already). I don't care what people do, even if it's offensive, as long as it's not hateful and within boundaries.

I don't care and - yeah - I'd say that's generally acceptable, but this is also subjective towards the moderators. If you think the moderator in question is being too strict, feel free to vote for another one when you all vote for extensions in November.

There's a difference between hate speech and just being crude, and the latter is acceptable here.

I think it's fine. However, if you have a track record of saying that to someone who is publically homosexual, has stated that such language bothers him and you do so anyway in an antagonistic manner, I think myself or any moderator has no choice but to conclude that's hate speech.

The term has such a broad meaning in today's society to ban it outright just seems way to politically correct and oversensitive. For many, it just a means to insult someone's masculinity.

There is no way for an act of moderation to be completely objective. I will ultimately decide the fate of a thread by the feelings I have. However, you can rest easy knowing ive seen enough of other administrations on OTHER forums to curb any dictator like actions.

Also I think the current mod set should stay as is until January, at least.

The N word won't be tolerated, because it so volatile. It has only two meanings, the most prevalent being a derogatory term used for blatant hate speech. The other definition of the term isn't even unanimously respected in the black community. There's really no place for it any discussion.

When it comes to racial slurs in general, that's the blanket policy. There are exceptions, moderation is subjective and that's something to take into account when you extend a moderator's status or not.

Also, for anyone who cares, regardless if you extend MAF's moderatorship (hail!), he will continue to be in our secret cabaal and will retain technical powers on the forum no matter what. Just because he can't ban your ass, doesn't mean he can't be vocal about the policy of the forum, how it's run, etc.

Read up the rules. November, you vote to extend all moderators' term for a full year. Or not. If the popular vote swings no, we hold sanctioned primaries and if you get 15 votes, you'll be put on the particular ballot you wanted to run for. You can't run against multiple moderators. In January, we'll hold elections and the popular vote wins.

So - yes - anyone can run.
