You sure sound comfortable enough to pass up an opportunity.

I'm not doing that badly right now, and I've had a decent amount of freelance work since then.

If you don't really want to take up another client, raise your rate to something you don't think you'll be able to get.  You win either way.

Let me clarify.  When I told them I was leaving Los Angeles, I was told I was going to be transitioned from a company employee to a contract employee for like, a probationary period.  I made plans as such.  Then, right before I left just shy of Christmas, they began hiring for my job and I was cut loose completely.  Which was incredibly short notice and very lame.  The did, however, give me a nice bonus on my way out and had In 'n Out catering for lunch.

It wasn't the way I planned it, but it wasn't a completely slap on the face.  More like a tap.

APF: I don't necessarily need the work, but it would be a big help and I'm currently done with my projects now.  Unless I get a call back on branding stuff for this up and coming pastry chef.

All's fair then, so long as you're comfortable with the terms of whatever contract/agreement you make with them.
