It's from STEVE FUCKING FAWKNER who gave us the Warlords games.

It has some pretty top-notch Japanese art direction.

It has an awesome orchestral soundtrack like the Warlords games.

It is set in the Warlords universe.

It marries the Warlords strategy games with Bejeweled and a few elements of card battling.

It has heroes to level up and customize.

THERE WILL NEVER BE A BETTER GAME MADE EVER. EVER.

The demo is at Game Crazy. I have been playing the demo compulsively for a half-hour. I will update with details on the mechanics when I feel like pulling myself away from it. It is beyond madly addictive, despite the demo's level cap.

It's not just a puzzle game, bitch. It's a strategy RPG first, with items and levelling and skills and shit. Combat is decided in puzzle battles. Matching colors generates mana for attacks, and you wanna block enemies from matching colors so they don't attack. It's ridiculously deep and addictive. Also you are gay and if you do not buy this game I will kill you.

The only issue I have is that looking between the PSP and DS, the game looks identical. The DS makes up for the lack of screen real estate by moving the side player profiles to the top screen during puzzles.

So I'm wondering if it's easier to use the touch screen than the PSP controls.

I hate the game and the way it's totally racist towards colorblind people like myself.

But I hate the PSP version least of all. DS lol.

In any case, I enjoyed Illustlogic DS like 10x more once I stopped trying to nibble the stylus around the tiny tiny 2x2 pixel square and just started drawing lines with the MAN'S D-PAD.

I can tell the DS baubles apart much more easily than the PSP ones. The DS ones are flat-shaded and lower-res with no alpha or shading...making them much easier to distinguish to my colorblind eye.

I don't want to buy the last-gen DS version. :'(
