Okay, I'll post mine.

During the birth of my daughter, there were complications.  Up until this point, I more or less thought of the pregnancy as a burden and how it ruined my life.  My wife at the time had been in labor for about 26 hours.  They decided to try to force my daughter our because the contractions had began to seperate.  Well, my daughter was too stressed and all of a sudden, her heart stopped.

This was the most panicked I've ever been in my life.  I completely freaked out.  I didn't know what was going on.  It was only about 5 minutes, but I don't remember much of anything except the fear that I felt.  I remember thinking I was going to have a heart attack because my whole body got number and I was freaking out.  I couldn't see straight.  I just kept holding on to my wife's hand.

I'm pretty agnostic, but I actually started to plead with whatever God might be watching us.

I remember the anger because the doctors were still walking around non-chalant and when we asked what was happening, they said so calmly "Her heart stopped."  Only one nurse, who had told us earlier that she had just started, seemed to have any sort of concern.

It's kind of amazing because while all this is going on, the doctor's are calmly explaining that we need an emergency C-Section and that our insurance might not cover it etc. and they're walking us through fucking paperwork.  We didn't even read it and just signed it.

I remember after my baby was born, I was looking at her in the nursery and she was crying and holding on to my index finger.  I remember realizing how much I cared about her.  I hadn't even met her before, but the thought of losing her was the most extreme feeling I'd ever experienced.  I had never even held her 10 minutes before but I already loved her more than anything.

It's really the moment in my life that I realized I had something worth living for.

there's something really amazing when you hold them for the first time and their tiny hand reaches out and grabs your finger :-[ :-[ :'( :-[

there's something much LESS amazing when you try to put them to bed and they nail you in the face with their sippy cup :-\

So true.

But it's amazing either way.  What's really beautiful is hearing them speak or laugh for the first time.  I still remember hearing her laugh.  It was so atrocious that I busted out laughing.

My wife was making her clap her hands.  All of a sudden, I hear some sound that can only be described as a frog with a frog in it's throat.

It was hilarious.  I turned around and was like "What the fuck was that???"

The day that I realized that I've been wasting my time in college, and I really want to do film as a career.

Except that I have to be cooler than FoC. No way I'm going to be grouped in that category.

Now, to actually go to a school that HAS film.

It's so sad.  the easiest way to get her to laugh now is to act like I hurt myself.
