Fighters hardly have the kind of pull they used to have these days. My dick couldn't be any limper at the fact that Virtua Fighter 5 is coming out soon.

What happened to this genre? It was the buisness back in the Saturn days. VF2 owned.

Virtua Fighter 4 evo is still one of the deepest fighters ever made, not getting excited about 5 is definately a personal problem.

DOA4's counter windows are huge, thats the only reason they work online. Aoi would be impossible online, and she's my favorite character these days.

I got it today. Only played a little, but so far it doesn't feel very different from VF4.

The Graphics do look great in HD though.

I keep reading that the AI has been noticably dumbed-down from its VF4:Evo brilliance, which is pretty damn unfortunate if at all true. I have no doubt it's still wildly more playable than any other fighting game outside the franchise, but some consistancy would be appreciated.

Loading is like 5 seconds for me. Not a bad deal. Took a few minutes to install to the hard drive when I first got the game.

Bootup has some really fucking annoying checks. WTF. It's like, "Checking game cache. Okay, you're game cache hasn't magically exploded since last time you played. Loading save. Do you want to load a save? Really? Oh, okay. Load completed."

Whatever, gameplay is so awesome so far. I'm not great at VF so I can't tell the "omg gimped sux AI" and once I have two sticks it won't matter. The AI is good enough to hand my ass to me.

And the graphics :O :O :O

Loading only happens when the game boots up or what? 5 seconds loading between matches is pretty criminal for a fighter.

Is it? Loading happens between matches, but not between rounds or "retries." I dunno, doesn't bother me all that much.

Are you sure its 5 seconds, thats a bit of time if you count it off. 3 would be more acceptable for a fighter id think.

Or is it 5 seconds while flashy VS (portrait and name) stuff flashes across the screen

Oh, I was referencing the latter. It flashes on screen, tells you who you are fighting, where, their style, and the ring size.

And if you lose and need to continue (lol omg i suck) the load is like instant. Like a second or two.
