I'll give it a rental.  It's still a Sonic game, so I have doubts.

I read his rationalization as to why SatSR is better than VF5 and just had to feel bad for the guy.

Eh, after thinking about it for a while, I'll probably enjoy it when I get my hands on it.  I actually tend to like Sonic games, no matter how shitty they are–I had some fun, albeit limited, with the 360 demo of Sonic.

I'll post what I said at OA

"I only got to play the "tutorial" section and a little bit of the first area, first wii game that too a little getting used to for me. It's good looking and fast, and I think I'll like the level up system.

It's not a "spinoff" like morphix said because you are not always trying to get to the end as fast as possible, hell Sonic can now break and even back step.

Good work Sega."

If I had a Wii, I'd give it a shot.

Buying it at the GS on the way home from work. Liked what I played of it at E3 and want something new for the Wii that has at least a bit of substance to it and doesn't totally suck.

Well, I did purchase it today and have played most of the missions in the first world, and did a couple in the dinosaur world. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, I had slightly higher opinion of the game at E3... namely I think they added too much crap to the game to "fill it out" and a lot of that stuff doesn't really work too well. Namely, walking backwards is pretty annoying. There is this one part in the dinosaur world where you have to jump and hit a switch on a wall, then do a quick jump backwards onto a spring before it disappears, and every time you try to do a backwards jump you mistakenly go into the motion to do a forwards jump. I'll give it more time but right now it's decent but not amazing. Definitley better than the last few Sonic adventures, though! And I love the art direction...

i got it.  i think the jump mechanic is all kinds of broken.  mapping BRAKE and JUMP to the same button?  who's bright ass idea was that?  the controller is positioned like excite truck which makes it annoying to do the dash/attack when locked onto enemies (jerk controller forward motion).  it would have been better if the controller was positioned like a normal remote.  at least you could one-hand most of the game.   i'm gonna give it another try tonight before i claim buyer's remorse.  so far, so bad.

in a nutshell, it's a driving game.
