I don't consider someone 3 years older than me to be an elder.

In terms of elders as older adults, yea I give them respect. I don't see myself on the same level as my parent's friends, for instance.

I respect people who I think deserve my respect.  I leant that lesson in grade 2, where my douchbag principle yelled at my grandma for calling him mr garvy instead of Dr. Garvy.  - his doctorate was in physical education
