Quote
Dystopia is a total conversion multiplayer-only mod that takes place in a futuristic world where two factions battle for control - the Punk Mercenaries and the Corporate Security Forces. Dystopia is a first-person shooter, and like many other mods, it is team-based. Though player models are markedly different between teams and each team has a different set of objectives, both teams are identical in terms of attributes and available equipment.

Dystopia's most unique feature is perhaps its cyberspace gameplay. Players who equip themselves with a "Cyberdeck" implant can "jack-in" to the cyber-world (called "decking") and use special virtual terminals to control electronic systems in the regular game world, thus helping their teammates meet objectives.

Another feature of note is Dystopia's "Awards" scoreboard, which is displayed at the end of each round. Awards are presented to players who excelled in certain areas, such as "Minions do my Bidding" for the player with the most spider grenade kills.

This mod is pretty fucking awesome.

Basically you start out in a map on a respawning point, ala tribes 2.
This is  where you can change your armor class, weapons, implants, etc.

You can choose either light, medium, heavy armor and one of four main weapons to choose from in each class. Much like tribes, only certain classes can use certain weapons .

Anyway the game is team based, either choose the punks (red, attackers) or the corps (blue, defenders) and is objective based.
Usually the punks are supposed to break a certain item or hack into the enemys systems, etc and the corps are to prevent this from happening.

Implants and cyberspace are what make this game awesome.

Basically, much like doom 3, there are little screens by doors and stuff where your able to click on the screen to open things and some are access points to cyberspace. Where if you have a cyberdeck implant, allows you to enter and hack security systems. This however, leaves your body completely open, leaving your team to defend your body as you race in cyberspace to your objective.

Cyberspace is beautiful. Its colorful, its pulsating, its like a cooler tron. There is no up or down in cyberspace, some walls become the ground as soon as you walk on them, its crazy. In cyberspace are terminals which are much like the ones in "meatspace" where you click a button to activate something, however, most of these are encrypted. You must break the encryption with the cyber tools you have and access the button, this could take time. During the time you are unecrypting a doorway, you should be wary as the enemy could be in cyberspace with you and who can kill your link with cyberspace forcing you to try again wasting precious time.

Implants also are a major factor out of cyberspace. There are implants to increase reloading time, implants for stealth (think active camoflauge) implants to locate enemys, both by sound and heat. Of course there are the oppositions to these (thermal vision, cold suit, sound suppressor, etc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dystopia_%28computer_game%29#Implants )

Its really crazy to be in a firefight and see this translucent blur fly past you, gets you all nervous like you are about to die, its fun.

Overall I  think its worth a download considering its free. Its seems pretty lag free, but honestly I think the learning curve is rather high and you need a lot of practice to be good at this game.
