I love long hair on girls, though I realize that many prefer to keep it shorter for grooming/professional reasons. I'd say slightly below the middle of the back is where it starts to look a bit odd. Perhaps 2/3 of the way down the back at the most. Keep it long until indolence or your professional ambitions tell you otherwise.

a little past the shoulders is okay. But some girls look really great with long hair. but if it's reaching the ass crack, then she should probably cut it.

I say around the waist is fine. It would look long and flowing but once you reach past that point...it does looks ridiculous. Also, some really long hair looks trashy, not because its so long but because it isn't trimmed at the edges (so it looks wild). Long hair on girls rawk

The hair on my head was down to my waist/butt before I cut it, and everyone always thought it looked nice. I took care of it, though, and I think that's the biggest part of it. Long, healthy hair looks nice. Long, unkempt hair is trashy.

It depends on the hair. Chicks with thick hair can get away with having it superlong. Mine is thick but fine, and when it grew to my waist when I was younger it would like wave into these half assed ringlets at the bottom.

I fucking hate taking care of long hair, though. I never let mine get all the way to my shoulderblades.

Depends on the girl. So long as she keeps it shiny, bouncy and clean I'm cool with whatever. As a general rule of thumb, I'd say hair down to the shoulder blades is a good length for most. Also a big plus if she isn't using it to hide unflattering features on her face/profile.
