D was good for its time, but I don't think most people were exposed to it until after RE made survival horror chic. By RE standards, it's kind of tame and easy, but it's still atmospheric. It's more of a graphic adventure than anything else. Don't hold it against it that it was made in an era when 3d gaming was still largely trial and error.
Enemy Zero isn't great, but it gets credit for trying something new and almost making it work.
I dig D2 a lot, though. By no means perfect, it's Warp's best game. Or at least I found it neat at the time. And yes, I do think a Wii take on D2 could be fun. Too bad the Wii can't even meet the image quality of the Dreamcast
