No, it wasn't my favorite of the year.  Why would I make that declaration before watching a bunch of '06 movies?  That's like if I all saw one year was FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY and then went, "This was the best movie of the year!"

Now, Clerks II is no From Justin to Kelly, but it's not a Top 5 film (of 2006, even).  I'm sure once I see those films, its position will sink lower.

I saw an interview on Whitaker about the film and it was pretty interesting.  He went in trying to give the Amin a fair shake, and apparently found out that a lot of things Americans and Western media had said or rumored about him were pretty much unfounded.

I really want to see The Good Shepherd, but that's a rental for me.

While the first act is the most definitely the best, there are still great scenes/shots in the second and third that add alot to the film. Dollying out on Joker peering over the lime-covered Vietcong, and when we dolly along with the film crew over the backs of the soldiers as they fire onto the city full of Vietnamese soldiers.
