This honestly hit me today while i was listening to Coldplay-Clocks, how questionable the path i have chosen is in my life . Every time i listen to these songs im reminded of how passionately i wanted to become a fighter pilot

. Man flying in a military aircraft is like the apex of human technological achievement it seems so fucking liberating

. I refuse to do so because i dont feel right doing something which may harm others also im scared of dying. So i decided to pursue a career in medicine.... Any thoughts? im especially interested in hearing from our lifeless MS employees

All the super hero fantasies aside, at one point I kind of wanted to be a shuttle pilot so I could go to space.

Then I got glasses and that didn't work out. For awhile I kind of didn't know what I wanted to do, and then I figured "I'm smart, I'll become a rocket scientist!"

That lasted 2 semesters and one day of lecture into the third. Between the course work and my coworkers at the time I decided I'd be happier programming/potentially programming games.

So I'll probably never invent faster than lightspeed travel but oh well.

Wanted to do this up until I graduated from middle school. I drew a lot back then, but then I got into one of NY's best high schools (fuckin hate that place). The amount of work that they gave was ridiculous. I never really adjusted to it and never had much free time to do what I wanted to do.

It just crossed my mind a few times. Sounded like a cool thing to do, but I was never serious about it.

My only dream left that I plan on pursuing some day is learning to play the piano/guitar and maybe a few other instruments so that I can make my own music. Author, filmmaker, and marine biologist are the only fantasy futures I'd ever seriously considered for myself.

I didn't think I could hack it as a professional writer or even a journalist (lawl) and eventually that seemed to be too far-fetched to make anything out of. I have a natural aversion to reading anything worthwhile so improvement is almost entirely out of the question. What you see is what you get. :'( I'm ashamed of it most of the time, but whatev.

I still have the desperate expectation of showing up to work loaded one day, Hulking-out, quitting, and going back to school for biology. The Hulking-out isn't related to that scene-- I just think it would be neato.

As a programmer, I can tell you that doing the same shit over-and-over is only a learning mechanic. In the real world, we save generic versions of that shit to plug and play. I'm barely capable of being effective, but I can say that if you really desire to have a future in design, you need to be good. Really fucking good.
