Yggdra Union is pretty awesome

I bought this last year, but it got lost in playtime since it had to compete with my new DS titles like Final Fantasy III, Yoshi's Island DS and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

But I've been trying to break free of my newfound Hot Shots Golf and Puzzle Quest addiction, and I'd like to thank/hate Drinky and MAF for both of those crack-like games, so I popped in Yggdra Union tonight.

It's awesome.  It really is.  The gameplay mechanics are pretty cool.  The visuals are a bit too simplistic; even the original Fire Emblem is more artistic, but the game more than makes up for it with the card system.  It's pretty nerdy, but totally awesome.

Well the overworld is simplistic but the combat parts are some 2D sex and u know it. The game does ramp in difficulty about 10 missions in so be PREPARED

I loved it from the few missions that I played on the rom that I downloaded. The story seemed distinguished mentally-challenged though. I need to buy the actual game though. I don't like playing GBA games on a keyboard.

I really don't understand how anyone can hate this.  It's essentially Fire Emblem with neater mechanics.  Fire Emblem has a better presentation, especially in terms of story and map sprites, but the 2D and battle animations in Yggdra Union are ace.

I wouldn't like the game either if I went in expecting to play something like Dragon Force. I miss that game. :'(
