Willco's thread made me go and order some of the 80's flicks I had nostalgia for, just for the hell of it. HOW ARE THESE GREAT PICKS?

Conan The Barbarian is amazing.  Excalibur has its moments.  The other two are okay, I dunno if I'd own 'em.

I haven't seen Short Circuit since I was like 8. I fear the worst.

In other news, I ordered the Man With No Name Collection from amazon, seeing as its only $20 for all three films (three great movies, one of them nearing my favorite of all time) :hyper

Conan is one of the best written epics ever.  I really wish more people would watch it and take notes before giving ups crap.

Oliver Stone wrote it. I know everyone knows this, but I found out about it recently. It's a very impressive movie all around. I LOVE the pacing, especially in the beginning. Although it's done quickly you don't get the impression things are rushed. Damn if only Peter Jackson could learn this :'(

But that DVD cover is fugly.

That montage of Conan chained to the wheel, growing bigger and stronger as he pushes it, set to the late, great Basil Poledouris' awesome score is goosebump-worthy.

I also love the part before that where James Earl Jones makes his first appearance and procedes to murder young Conan's mother :(

What a cool actor. He's either your father (Star Wars, Lion King) or the murderer of your mother (Conan) - and he looks sort of like OJ Simpson. What a coincidence

I don't believe anyone could push a wheel for so long though without going completely insane!

Excellent choice with Conan, Cheebs. I downloaded the soundtrack. One of the most epic and awesome soundtracks ever. Plus, Nintendo used it to showcase OoT. :D

FUCK

Well I was driving around cause I was looking for the LOTR:FOTR SE. First I went to Walmart but they didn't have it. Circuit City only had the huge boxset with all three SEs ($90). Barnes and Noble had it, but it was $30 wtf. I only brought $25 because the movies were listed as being $22 on the website :(

return the universal brazil disk PD. If there is a criterion out NEVER get the non-criterion.

There is only one film where the non-criterion is better than the criterion verison and that is Time Bandits, oddly a Terry Gilliam film.

I had forgotten about Excalibur. There were a few good fight scenes (gory) and a few titty scenes .. but the acting in-between was pretty bad.

How can you call Liam Neeson BAD ACTING?

But it has awesome violence, awesome visuals, awesome music and boobies.  It's probably the best version of the Arthur legend on film.

He won't commit to you, Willco. We'll be together five years this April, and my ring finger is still bare and dull. ;)

EDIT: It's planned for when we're not "so young". It's just hard for me to wait sometimes.

I think you should move on, nikki.  I'll take care of him in ways you cannot!

(Also, who can blame him on marriage!  Worst financial contract a person can get into!)

Never "move on" from something you love. There might be better things out there, sure, but why sacrifice something good for the chance? :)

I don't wanna be married yet, just engaged. Calling him my boyfriend anymore almost seems juvenile because we've been together for so long and put so much into our relationship, it just seems like more than that. Maybe I'm just an elitist bitch and I like titles or something :lol, but it would be more descriptive really to say he was my fiance. It's not like he's not sticking around.

Also, I disagree on the worst financial contract thing. The WORST is student loans!
