Playstation Home, which is also free, seems a lot more useful for meeting with new people and adding them as your friends than anything Microsoft provides with XBox Live!

Meeting with people who visit the game rooms you like to visit (like Uncharted fans), talk about the game through headsets, add-on DS3 keyboard/touchpad and such. You like them (the much cooler and much more customizable avatars provide a first impression) you add them to your friends list.

I have already added a few new friends through Playstation Home, we chatted and danced for a while. Then played some chess and then easily added them.

Speaking of hilarious, are Sony's fans really that butthurt? I mean first MikeB's thread and now "PS3 vs. 360 themes: which do you like better"? it doesn't go any lower than this.

After the holidays are over, more and more Sfags will admit that the PS3 is going to end up last.  The more insane Sfags will probably get banned after the NPD figures of December are released.

PSP sells a lot in Japan, and just compared to the previous attempts at rivaling Nintendo in the handheld market the PSP has done very well.  A big part of this is problem because it's the best handheld gaming system.

Exactly, people will eventually "accept the PS3 for what it is" like they did with PSP and learn to "appreciate" it once this is over. This is how it always go for any console war.

But PSP > PS3. PSP is awsome. It's just a totally different system from ds. It's like the Genesis and the SNES. SNES was good at story based games, but it paled to Genesis when it came to action -- 2d shooters, platformers, you name it. Because PSP doesn't have a bunch of rpgs on it doesn't make it bad, but some people would like you to think this. It just has a totally different game style emphasis.

I think comparing PSP to PS3 is silly given that PSP is way better and way more sucessful at what it set off to do.

I didn't even read the thread, i guess it has something to do with hyperbolic claims that Heavy Rain looks better than KZ2 (wtf?), and how it's sort of making this impact on them.

Then he starts going about all these things in the development and how impressed he is, and it just says "brainwashed" to me. Even though i'm very hyped for Heavy Rain.

It's gonna be a niche game though, i'll be happy if it's good and sells like 2 million tops.

Nothing is going to save the PS3 now.

Sony won't be dropping the price either for a while.  If they're so deep into the hole, why would they want to drop the price of their system?  It is much easier to keep the price where it is until every sale turns a profit.  Software sales are not large enough to offset the losses the PS3 incurs with every sale.  That basically means being last place but at least they will be able to stop the bleeding.

If Sony does drop the price, all it will do is cause a brief sales spike and then return to normal.
