Being someone who simply likes Uncharted is just a fucking impossible situation on NeoGAF. I thought it was a fun enough game with awesome production values, obviously the developer knows how to make a good piece of entertainment, but the "defense force" shit has elevated the damned game to a level where I don't think even Naughty Dog believes it should hang out. And then the other side will argue that it's basically shit, even though by any reasonable measure they should be able to recognize that it's a good game.
It's an action adventure game, a good one, and that's it. The whole affair is similar to Gears of War really. A good to very good game argued to be something that it certainly is not, and saying that will lead to pages of bitching and whining about how it is definitely totally revolutionary and groundbreaking. It's as if these games can't be appreciated unless everyone agrees that they are totally the upper crust in every way. Blah. Just enjoy being dazzled by the presentation, because that's what's happening. And it's nothing to be ashamed of, great presentation is supposed to dazzle and entertain.
