I lived in England (downtown London) for 6 months and I have to say after blowing through the tourist stuff after the first week I had more fun just "living there".

Experiencing just going to get groceries, going to the movies, watching tv...etc a normal daily life while in another country was almost more fun. Experiencing living in downtown London in a apartment was probably more important and memorable than going on a double decker bus tour.

But, yeah going to a country for video games is fucking messed up regardless.

I know lots of people from Nigeria and the first thing they want do once they get to the US (after registering for college lol) is go to the capitol, see Mount Rushmore, etc. That's the first thing that comes to my mind as well when thinking about visiting other countries.

I want to see Big Ben in England, I want to see where LOTR was shot in New Zealand (lol), I want to visit the Japanese country side, etc. I would also love to see how small things are in Japan. I'm 6'3 so it would be interesting seeing how doors are, beds, etc.

I went to visit some missionaries we support down there. When we first arrived it was pretty cool, but later we went further into the city to where the missionaries were working. Pretty sad conditions

That's what I would have thought, but it seemed like they had a good group of people. We support missionaries in countries that "make more sense" so to speak, such as Nigeria, China*, Argentina.


*I got to meet a few of the missionaries there and they're pretty fearless. They're faced with a lot of hostility and violence which forces them to essentially work underground. I met a lady missionary who's brother disappeared last year and hasn't been seen since. I've had the privilege to meet many missionaries, and even the ones we don't support due to theological issues are nothing short of heroes to me. But eh, back on topic

The third-quarter fundraising news keeps coming: The Associated Press passes along word that former Massachusetts Gov. Forget those political polls.  Throughout time (at least the last decade), oddsmakers have had an uncanny knack for predicting political races.  It’s not so much that they have a crystal ball, rather the lines adjust based on public action.  When it comes to political betting, the public action is presumed to represent votes.  The theory being that someone who is likely to vote on Mitt Romney probably won’t bet on Ron Paul winning.

Chances are we would play Halo 3 mainly, with a little Pac Man CE mixed in for variety (the spice of life).

It would be best if we could get people to dress up as different characters from Halo 3, but preferably only one of each main character (ie no 2 masterchiefs, cortanas [sorry ladies] and other characters that would conflict with the game's canon).

i know i made a post about the CMAs having a distinguished black fellow "country" rapper in general discussion, but i feel that this must be heard. country music is one of my favorite music genres, but it has strayed away from its roots(bluegrass). when the group, Big & Rich started on the radio, i feel that they spat on the graves of traditional country musicians, because they mix country music with cRap. whenever i analyze rap being mixed with certain forms of heavy metal, i can see how they can somewhat coexist. these Big and Rich boys call thier music, country music without prejudice. as far as i know, country music has never been prejudice. take Charlie Pride for example, he is black and he left a mark on country music(originally i thought he was white until i saw a picture of him, to this day i still don't know what to think). how can these guys say that country music is bigoted. at the CMAs, as they performed, they had a midget in a pink, feathery hat, including one of the singers wearing one, and they had a huge "cowboy" distinguished black fellow come on the stage and start rapping. how can the country music industry tolerate something like this?? it is bad enough that slutty musicians like shania twain are called country music, when she is more of a pop singer. now Tim McGraw is doing songs with rapper Nelly. WTF!!!! I am just glad that traditional bluegrass music has not been invaded by distinguished black fellows.
