Can No Country's ending even be considered unconventional and anti-Hollywood anymore? There've been so many artsy films in the last few years that have used ambiguous, unresolved or tragic endings. Even a dumb movie like Pirates 3 had an ambiguous and not entirely happy ending.

I knew what the ending meant. I didn't need Tommy Lee Jones talking about it for 30 minutes. It's just not something that translated well to film, I felt. Especially contrasted to the first 3/4 of the movie, which consisted of an hour and half of one of the best cat-and-mouse chases I've ever seen. The massive tone shift is just jarring.

Also, Blood Simple is next on my Blockbuster Total Access (yea, I tried it out so I could get Photobucket Pro free) queue. I'll see how that compares to No Country.

I might have to watch the movie again. Like I said in that thread, the friend I saw it with was like Green Shinobi afterwards, and I had to argue with him and tell him why they pulled that at the end. But as time goes by, I think back and dislike it more and more. And after seeing There Will Be Blood, a film that ends spectacularly, I just jumped on the NCFOM ending-hate train.
