Cool. Just remember, learning takes alot of time and practice. You`re not going to be shredding in a week. Just take pleasure in the simple things like getting a note to sound correct from proper finger placement, and changing from one note to another successfully. And don`t forget to ask about lessons! Very important!

That kind of focused practice really helped me learn. Pick a song and stick to it- The biggest challenge is learning to move your fingers together, in concert. Just playing anything helps with that and being familar with a song helps even more. I found learning on an electric to be 675754675765 times easier than an acoustic, just because playing an acoustic fucking hurts.

Get an electric guitar with a humbucker for the "Metal/Rock" sound. Humbuckers create a fat sound, absolutely necessary for heavy riffs and powerchords. You can't really play heavy without these.

Humbuckers and single coils are the pickups placed under the strings on the body.

An Ibanez starterspack with one of those or a Squier Fat Strat are great beginner guitars.

Someone posted self-replicating encrypted javascript code on the site that caused any idiots who ran it to spam 4chan.

I copied the code and changed it so that instead of the code actually running it just spit out what it was really doing. Because, well, it's interesting stuff and all.

Then someone on 4chan asked what the code did, so I posted the decrypted code. Now they've banned me as well, lolz.

Oh well, now I have to wait till tuesday at the earliest :/. Fuck.

Also I don't really want to play anything heavy. I was thinking of like soft rock or even some country, so I have some very small goals I want to work towards.

After all that...ah well, go with your heart. Buy whichever thing you'll get the most use out of. I'd still suggest inquiring about lessons though. The ones around here tend to "loan" you a student guitar for starting out, which gets absorbed into the cost of the lessons.

Yea, that $100 difference really helped GameCube, and that same price really helped XBOX keep up with PS2.

No one gives a fuck about 360 in those conversations because it has already asserted itself as a cash machine for third parties and doesn't need to prove itself. PS3 is the PLAYSTATION BRAND console that launched at the same time as Wii.
