It is because that system still provides the one or two good games a year.  Nintendo-only fans aren't able to grasp the concept of having a steady influx of good games that come with a PC, PS3, or PC.  Strange enough, the DS has a steady stream of great games, but apparently there is a mental lapse when thinking about the Wii in their minds.

Don't attempt to try and reason with anyone there.  Apparently the purchasing history of these people consisted of only shooter for their gaming career, and the first game they tried outside of their normal range is this artsy flash game with better production values.  The hyperbole surrounding the game is staggering by those guys, and this is coming from a fan of this game who enjoyed it quite a bit.

$15 is just too much for any arcade game.  For $20, you can get a Gamefly subscription, and play multiple real games.  So few games are worth buying at full price.  Heck, Assassin's Creed is $15 used.  That's a much better 3 hour (for the trolls, I happen to like AC) game than Braid.

I agree.  I've bought a lot of games on day one because I didn't want to wait a month for Gamefly, and I knew I could flip it for little loss on ebay after I beat it (or didn't like it).

Also, 16 bucks will get you 8 songs on Rock Band, which you'll play over and over again.  As I understand it Braid has almost no replayability.  Replay value definitely plays a part.
