JRPGS are always the same fucking setting with the same shitty designs. Eternal Sonata was great because it actually was pretty original. But come on man, what's his face, the guy who designs the FF characters, he spends way too much time in the jap version of Hot Topic.

Guess you missed the part in my post above where I mention Contra IV, Braid and Wipeout HD? If an American or Canadian or British or Indian or Kenyan or Nepalese game developer created a game that appealed to me mechanically, and/or stylistically, I would not hesitate to play it.

I wanna say Mielke did it for lulz, but no, it's Mielke, he's serious.  I'm surprised he hasn't jumped into the thread yet and started defending himself.

Anyway, it's a big load of shit.  Fable 2 is just Fable 1, but larger.  All the same gameplay mechanics and options...with a dog, a family, and more real estate.  Some things from Fable 1 are even more simplified for consoles.  I don't know how he's quantifying this..it sounds like he just had this great soundbite pop into his head and saw lots of hits for 1UP in the future.   Upon closer examination, it doesn't mean much.  Final Fantasy has had a Final Fantasy feel for the past 10 years, usually with changes to the skill/battle system only, because it's Final Fantasy, Fable 5 is going to feel like Fable 2 because it's Fable.  There's no wrpg/jrpg debate necessary here.
